This September, be sure to watch Aberdeen in the Disney film Camp Rock 2; The Final Jam as the house band for The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato!
Aberdeen had a busy first year, kicking things off in style with a full-length interview on The Strombo Show, broadcasting nationwide with host George Stroumboulopoulos. In the summer, the band was able to land their first national tour, headlining bills on 33 consecutive dates. With a fanbase cemented and a licensing deal to Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment in effect, appearances on Much Music, 1010 CFRB, Aux TV, Greenpeace and Amnesty International soon followed. Aberdeen's music can be heard across Canada on CBC Radio.
Aberdeen's debut album "Disasters", distributed worldwide, has nearly sold out since it's release in January 2008. The disc displays Aberdeen's attention to detail, in the form of twelve vocal-driven, harmonically rich songs, spanning genres from pop, all the way to alternative rock. As the band likes to say: "There's something for everyone". Through powerful lyric and potent songwriting, "Disasters" illustrates the birth, life and death of relationships.
2009 has proven to be an exciting year for Aberdeen's international exploits. Hand selections to appear on the Vans Warped Tour and in Alternative Press Magazine have opened the door to huge markets in the United States. The band has made the most of these opportunities and others by working crowds hard before and after shows and effectively marketing themselves over various social networks. Each member in Aberdeen strives to make a personal connection with listeners, by making themselves available in person at concerts and also online, on networks such as Facebook.
Aberdeen is currently making arrangements to record in Baltimore, Maryland as well as New York City. A single release is planned for late summer 2009.
